Aracaria Universal Astrology Guide

ASTROLOGICAL SYSTEMS are based on the premise that there is a relationship between astronomical phenomena and the human world. Astrology, different from astronomy, is a natural science which is the study of celestial objects. The roots of western astrology can be found in Mesopotamia in the 2nd millennium BCE. Chinese astrology was commonly practised in the Zhou dynasty. In India complicated astrological systems based on celestial observations emerged as early as the 1st century BCE. Many ancient civilisations searched for meaning in the sky. Referencing astronomical rhythms helped to predict seasonal changes. Lunar cycles were recorded as early as 25,000 years ago. Constellations were observed and recorded. Their appearances were referenced to the seasons and helped to predict annual floods and initiate seasonal activities such as planting and harvesting. The procession of cosmic bodies was related to philosophical elements, body organs, personality types and states of mind. It was believed that astrology explained everything about a person’s fate and destiny. In modern times astrology is considered a non-science. Scientific testing of astrology has found little evidence to support the effects claimed in astrological traditions. However, astrology has never lost its fascination, and for many people it is a reliable alternative guide to looking at the world and understanding its subtleties.

I think these would be really great if you had some kind of practice/treatment room as a lovely quick reference. It would also be nice to show a client this resource instead of pointing to a screen… I feel like you are getting on my vibe with this!

They would also make a really cool cost effective addition to a gift.

Before I ordered them I looked for more information about who created them, and turns out Stefan Mager is a really interesting character. He does some really unique and great sculptures and has developed a pretty rad sounding space in Australia. It is called the Aracaria Project (the name is of course shared by the guides). All in all, he seems very interesting and as I say… I am beyond impressed with these guides, such a lot of useful information set out in a great format for referencing after you have studied it.

The Aracaria Project started in 2000 when Stefan Mager purchased a 24 acre somewhat run-down property that had been operated for some years as an uncertified biodynamic farm. Over time the property was cleaned up, organised and biodynamic certification was achieved. During these years food-production gardens and orchards were established and maintained. When the fundamental nature of the project changed from farm production to a park-like, creative environment, byodynamic certification was no longer required. However, the organic, holistic approach to the land continues. Today (2021) Aracaria features many spectacular gardens and an environment which includes a vast array of plants, trees, native animals, dams and waterfeatures. A number of architecturally interesting buildings have been constructed. They include the studio spaces where Stefan Mager produces the works that can be found on this site.
